Terms of Use

1. Definitions

"Stimalo" refers to the web platform accessible at stimalo.com, including the PWA and all related features.

"Owner" refers to Paolo Spada, VAT IT04418050409, based in Santarcangelo di Romagna (RN), Italy.

"User" refers to any natural or legal person who registers and uses Stimalo.

"Service" refers to the set of features offered by Stimalo, including the cost calculator, quote management, printer and material catalog, jobs and clients management.

2. Acceptance of terms

By registering on Stimalo, you declare you have read, understood and fully accepted these Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy. If you don't accept the terms, do not use the Service.

3. Service description

Stimalo is a platform for 3D printing cost calculation, quote generation and job management. The Service is available in two plans:

• Free Plan: free, complete and without time limits. Includes all calculator core features, jobs, clients, inventory management and access to the printer/materials catalog.
• Pro Plan: paid (monthly or yearly subscription), includes additional features for professional presentation, advanced analytics, custom branding, multi-printer projects and 3MF import.

4. Registration and account

• To use Stimalo you must create an account with a valid email and password.
• The email address is verified via OTP code.
• The User is responsible for the confidentiality of their access credentials.
• The User warrants that the information provided at registration is true and updated.
• Creating multiple accounts, accounts with false identities, or sharing credentials with third parties is prohibited.

5. Use of service

The User commits to using Stimalo in compliance with applicable laws and these Terms. The following is prohibited:

• Using the Service for illegal or fraudulent purposes
• Attempting to access other users' data
• Performing automated scraping, reverse engineering, or massive data extraction from the Service
• Intentionally overloading the Service infrastructure
• Reselling or sublicensing access to the Service without authorization

6. User-generated data

Data entered by the User (printers, materials, clients, jobs, quotes) remains the User's property. The Owner does not claim any intellectual property rights on uploaded content.

The User may export their data in JSON format from the Profile page at any time, and delete the account with all associated data.

6.1 3D files (G-code, 3MF, STL, OBJ, STEP) — Stimalo Protocol

For 3D files uploaded by the User the following rules apply, formalized in the public Stimalo Protocol:

• Files uploaded in the cost calculator (G-code, 3MF for time/weight pre-population) are processed in memory and never saved on the server.
• Files uploaded in marketplace quote requests (STL/3MF/OBJ/STEP) are accessible only to the maker chosen by the client and are automatically deleted: 7 days after the related job is completed or 60 days after request creation, whichever comes first.
• 3D files are never used to train AI models, never sold, never shared with third parties (except as required by legitimate judicial order).
• 3D files are excluded from server backups: when deleted, they have no recovery path.
• The User and the maker can request immediate deletion via the dedicated button in the request page or by writing to [email protected].
• For companies needing formal documentation of confidentiality, a bilateral NDA is available on request at [email protected].

7. Aggregated and anonymous data collection

By registering on Stimalo, you consent to the collection and analysis of aggregated and anonymous data related to platform usage. This data includes, by way of example:

• Most-used printer types (e.g. "40% of users use Bambu Lab FDM printers")
• Most popular materials (e.g. "PLA used by 65% of users")
• Average price ranges of generated quotes
• Most chosen pricing strategies
• Aggregated geographic distribution of users

This data is collected exclusively in aggregated and anonymous form — individual users cannot be identified. It is used to:

• Improve the Service and offered features
• Understand 3D printing market trends
• Enrich the catalog with most requested models
• Produce public reports and statistics about the community (e.g. "Stimalo annual report: state of 3D printing in Italy")
• Share market insights with commercial partners (printer manufacturers, material suppliers)

In no case will individual User data (client names, job details, applied prices) be shared with third parties or made public.

8. Pro plan and payments

• The Pro Plan is a recurring subscription (monthly or yearly) handled via Stripe.
• Prices are gross and final (VAT not applicable per art. 1, c. 54-89, Italian Law 190/2014 — flat-rate regime for the Owner).
• Payment auto-renews at period end, unless cancelled.
• The User may cancel the subscription at any time from the Profile page. Pro features remain accessible until the end of the paid period.
• Credit card data is handled entirely by Stripe and never transits or is stored on Stimalo servers.
• Refund conditions, service-related refunds and cancellation procedures are detailed in our dedicated Refund Policy.

9. Catalog and suggestions

The printer and material catalog is collaboratively maintained. When the User suggests adding a missing model or material:

• The suggestion is reviewed and, if approved, added to the public catalog available to all users.
• Suggested technical data (printer specs, material properties) becomes part of the open source database (github.com/swordlab, CC-BY-4.0 license).
• The suggesting User does not acquire exclusive rights to the suggested data.

10. Service availability

The Owner commits to keeping the Service continuously available but does not guarantee 100% uptime. Interruptions may occur for maintenance, updates or force majeure.

The Owner is not liable for damages resulting from temporary unavailability of the Service.

11. Limitation of liability

Stimalo is a cost-calculation support tool. Results produced by the calculator are estimates based on parameters entered by the User and do not constitute professional advice.

The Owner is not liable for:

• Calculation errors stemming from incorrect parameters entered by the User
• Commercial decisions made on the basis of generated quotes
• Economic losses resulting from use of the Service
• Indirect, consequential damages or loss of profit

12. Intellectual property

The Stimalo software, design, logo, source code and documentation are owned by the Owner. The printer and materials database is released under CC-BY-4.0 license.

Use of the Service does not grant the User any intellectual property rights over the software or trademarks.

13. Changes to terms

The Owner reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be communicated via the site and, for substantial changes, via email. Continued use of the Service after notice implies acceptance of the modified terms.

14. Termination

The User may delete their account at any time. The Owner reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with prior notice when possible.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Italian law. For any dispute, the Court of Rimini (Italy) shall have jurisdiction, except as otherwise required by mandatory consumer protection law of the User's country of residence.

For consumers in the European Union: nothing in these Terms limits the consumer protection rights granted by the law of your country of residence (Reg. EU 593/2008 Rome I, art. 6).

For consumers outside the EU: the application of Italian law does not deprive you of the protections granted by mandatory provisions of your country of residence.

16. Marketplace "Find a Maker"

Stimalo provides the "Find a Maker" service as a platform connecting those seeking 3D printing services with those offering them. Stimalo is not party to transactions between makers and clients. We do not warrant service quality, delivery times, fiscal compliance or accuracy of information published by makers. Each maker is responsible for their own activity and fiscal compliance. Stimalo reserves the right to remove profiles or reviews that violate these terms. The marketplace is currently available only for makers based in Italy; international rollout is in roadmap.

17. International users

Stimalo accepts users worldwide. The User acknowledges that:

• The Service is operated from Italy and primarily complies with EU/Italian law
• Data may be processed by service providers based in the USA (Stripe, Cloudflare, Resend, Groq, Google) under standard contractual safeguards (see Privacy Policy)
• Specific local laws (e.g. CCPA for California, LGPD for Brazil, PIPEDA for Canada) are recognized and respected as detailed in the Privacy Policy
• It is the User's responsibility to ensure that use of the Service complies with the laws of their country of residence
